AL-TALH, SA'DAH, YEMEN, 25 MAY, 2015
Ahsan Majna and his family of nine were displaced after coalition airstrikes reduced their home to ruins on May 25, 2015.
“It was 2:30 a.m. on the May 25, 2015. Our residential area in al-Talh was usually safe from airstrikes, but on that day the jets targeted a number of houses in the neighborhood.
First the nearby houses were destroyed. We evacuated children and women from the remaining houses in case the jets would come back. As we expected, the second round of strikes hit our house and reduced it to rubble.”
“The sight of it was unbearably painful, seeing our house reduced to a pile of broken wood and rocks. It has left us with a deep scar that I don't think will ever heal. We currently live in a relative’s house in the al-Shat area in Sahar. Going back to our home is impossible as it has been completely destroyed.”
